Frequently Asked Questions
About This Pilgrimage

How much does this pilgrimage cost?
The cost per person is $1,195 for double occupancy overnight accommodations, if purchased prior to December 31, 2023.  January 1 – 31, 2024, the registration fee will increase to $1,295. After February 1, 2024, the registration fee will increase to $1,395 until the spaces are sold out.

For those interested in the limited single occupancy overnight accommodations the cost is $1,645, and there are only 6 of those spots available.  On January 1, 2024, if spaces are still available at this level, the registration fee for single occupancy will increase to $1,795.

If you are interested in joining the pilgrimage as a family, with children 15 years and younger, please contact Thomas Dotterweich directly to discuss special pricing.

With whom will I share a room?
During the registration process you will have the opportunity to make a roommate request.  If you are traveling alone, and do not make a specific roommate request, you will be assigned a roommate of the same gender for the entirety of the pilgrimage.

What are the overnight accommodations like?
Every night the pilgrimage will stop at a highly rated and reviewed hotel along our route.  Most all hotels will have been visited by a member of the Diocesan Staff prior to our trip.  Rooms will have two full/queen beds, except for single occupancy rooms which may have one or two beds depending on availability.

What does my registration fee include?
Your registration fee covers the cost of round-trip bus transportation from Montana to New Mexico, and destinations between, as well as two meals a day and overnight accommodations.  One of the meals included will be breakfast every day at the hotel.  Any entrance fees or expected donations at the holy sites are also covered.  Of course, you are always encouraged to give to the holy sites directly if you are so moved.

What is not included in my registration fee?
You are expected to cover the cost of one meal a day, plus any alcoholic drinks for the entirety of the pilgrimage including at meals, and any other incidentals and snacks.  You should also budget funds for personal expenses and souvenirs.

What is the refund policy?

After registering, any participant, unable to make the pilgrimage, who notifies the diocese prior to 15 days of the departure of the trip, will be given the option of a 50% cash refund, or credit in the full value amount for a future pilgrimage conducted by the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings. Less than 15 days of departure of the trip, all funds are non-refundable.

Will we be celebrating Mass and doing other “religious stuff” every day?
Yes, this is a Catholic pilgrimage and so we will be praying and celebrating Mass every day of the trip, with the exception of the first day.

How structured will this pilgrimage be?
While most days will be pretty full and structured, there are also periods of down time built into the schedule.  For example, there are a few evenings when nothing is scheduled so that you can spend time with other pilgrims and explore the surrounding area.

Who do I contact for more information?
