This event is held about every three years, and is attended by hundreds of thousands of Catholics, including the Pope himself. Any individual is invited to attend the event, but most of the activities and messages are geared toward individuals 15-35. The next World Youth Day is scheduled for August 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal.
