Our Schools

From its founding, the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings has provided Catholic Education through a Catholic School system across Eastern Montana.  Today the Diocese supports 3 high schools and 10 middle schools and elementary schools throughout 94,000 square miles.  Visit the individual school sites below to learn about the rich history and the life of the school today.

Ashland, Montana

St. Labre High School

St. Labre High School is a Catholic Mission school serving Native American students from both the Northern Cheyenne and Crow Tribes. St. Labre in Ashland, Montana is one of three campuses that are included in the St. Labre Indian Catholic School District. The Ashland campus has been in operation since 1884 as a part-time residential school in which students are sent home to family on the weekends. The school and parish have a strong Capuchin presence which is a Franciscan Order that serves all three campuses. St. Labre High School is the only school serving grades 9-12. Students enjoy a tuition free education through the generosity of national and international donors.

St. Labre Middle School

Preschool through 8th grades are offered for the entire Yellowstone County area in a state-of-the-art facility.

St. Labre Elementary School

St. Labre Elementary School is a pre-kindergarten to fourth grade school in Ashland, Montana that serves the Northern Cheyenne and Crow communities.  St. Labre Elementary School is committed to holistically developing students to be motivated, accountable, humble, empowered and open-hearted.  We emphasize a trauma-informed and brain-based approach to learning to support the academic and social-emotional well-being of all students.

St. Francis Catholic

Saint Francis Catholic K8 School provides an exceptional Catholic education emphasizing formation in faith, family spirit and academic excellence, and the school thrives on a community and family atmosphere.  SFC students consistently achieve higher standardized test scores than state, local, and national averages, and students are recognized for being well-prepared for the rigor of secondary education.  SFC is a state-of-the-art facility built in 2017 and is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association.  SFC is part of Billings Catholic Schools, a unified Catholic school district serving over 1,000 students in grades PK-12 from Billings, Montana, and the surrounding areas.

Billings Central Catholic High School provides an exceptional Catholic education emphasizing formation in faith, family spirit and academic excellence.  BCCHS graduated its first class in 1948 and thrives on tradition and a community and family atmosphere.  BCCHS is recognized for the success of its academic, athletic, theological, and fine arts programs, and the preparation of graduates for post-secondary success.  BCCHS is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association, the Montana Office of Public Instruction, and Cognia.  BCCHS is part of Billings Catholic Schools, a unified Catholic school district serving over 1,000 students in grades PK-12 from Billings, Montana, and the surrounding areas.

Our Lady of Lourdes

At Our Lady of Lourdes Pre-K – 8th Catholic School, all students are encouraged to seek truth and knowledge through Jesus Christ, share their discoveries with those around them, and use their gifts and talents to serve others.  Whether it be diligently studying mathematics or reading to a “buddy” in a younger grade, our students are constatnly developing their gifts and talents so that they are prepared to act as servant leaders in a global community and glorify God through their lives.

St. Jude Thaddeus

St. Jude Thaddeus School was built in 1915 just 12 years after Havre became a city.  The school opened its doors in 1916 and has been a place of education for 108 years.  With a preschool program and a kindergarten through 8th grade elementary and a junior high, we provide area families with a faith-based education.  We are dedicated to excellence in education and to the spiritual development of each of our students.  We prepare each student spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually for a life of faith, service, and integrity.

St. Charles is located in Pryor, Montana, 35 miles south of Billings. Our school is in a rural community and embraces the gospel teachings of Jesus Christ, along with the Crow language and traditions.
SCMS serves students in grades Preschool through 8th grade with students from the local area in addition to those bussed from Billings each day.  We offer small class sizes, rigorous academics, and robust Crow language and heritage classes, all in a Catholic school setting, sharing the love and message of Jesus to all those we serve.  We look forward to serving you and having you join our dynamic school and faith community!

Pretty Eagle

Serving the Crow Reservation since 1887, this school offers education to kindergarten through 8th grade. Students have the option to continue on to St. Labre High School.
